About Me

I have university degrees in pharmacy and commerce and work as a medical writer and pharmacist. My husband and I have three adult sons. After many years in Sydney, in late 2017 I moved with my husband and youngest son, Sam, to the blissfully beautiful south coast of NSW.

Sam is on the autism spectrum, and the inspiration behind my first book, the Australian Autism Handbook, which I co-wrote with the gorgeous Seana Smith. A new edition of this bestselling book, with a new co-author, Kathryn Wicks, was released in April 2013 and updated again in 2016. Our family appeared on ABC TV's Australian Story in 2017 in an episode called My Son Sam

In 2023, Seana and I reunited to write a brand new edition of The Australian Autism Handbook, completely updated for a new generation of Australian families.

I enjoy writing about health issues and am co-author with Seana and Catherine Knox of Beyond the Baby Blues, a much needed guide to emotional wellbeing during pregnancy and early parenthood.

P.S. In case you're wondering about my name (I bet some of you are) it's an O'Reilly family name and means 'a blessing'.
