Most of the time my work as a professional medical writer occurs behind the scenes, but when the mood takes me, I occasionally like to get on my soapbox.
My opinion pieces on spirituality and cancer, the damaging myths of motherhood, birth politics and why I let my husband take my autistic son to Africa have been published in The Sydney Morning Herald and I have written on autism and the importance of science at The Guardian.
Over at Mamamia I’ve tackled postnatal depression, overprotective parenting and anxiety in young people and taken Paleo Pete Evans to task about his ignorant ideas about autism.
My articles on writing and inspiration have appeared on the writing blog Write It Sideways. I’m an occasional book reviewer over at Booktopia too. You can read my reviews of The Rosie Project and The Rose Effect here.
